A member of the national caretaker committee of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Barrister Kabir Usman has called on all aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to join the ‘most democratic party’ in Nigeria.
The party chieftain made this call following Tuesday’s Supreme Court’s judgment, which dismissed the appeal filed by its candidate, ex-Governor Idris Wada over outcome of the last gubernatorial election.
In a media statement in Abuja, Barrister Usman stated the need to abide by the judgment as a law abiding people and a party that practices the rule of law it advocated all through its stint at the helm of national affairs for sixteen years.
He said PDP as a party has demonstrated a lot of democratic instincts by ensuring uninterrupted and unmingled rule of law in Nigeria, urging the political class in Kogi and Nigeria to run for cover by pitching tent with the ‘peoples’ party’.
Usman said, “PDP as a party has brought a lot of development in all facets in Nigeria representing light instead of darkness being witnessed at the present dispensation.
“It is only PDP that can once again take Nigeria to greater heights in the area of qualitative education, robust economy, unparalleled investment, quality healthcare and investors now than ever, as the palpable crisis that bedeviled the party has been resolved.”
He said the party is now prepared to accept defectors, particularly the APC members who worked tirelessly to install the peoples choice in Kogi but was scuttled through all means.
Usman urged the Audu/faleke group in Kogi and other supporters of the party who have realized the undemocratic practice to move en masse to PDP.
