Police have arrested two people in connection with the death of a 4-year old girl in Florida, who shot and killed herself while playing with a gun.
Little Amirra Jacques died in her home from gunshot wound around 8:30pm on Sunday with her uncle, her mom, Nashavia Lowe and a 16-year-old unnamed boy in the house. Her uncle, 25-year-old Nathaniel Lowe told police that someone had entered the house uninvited through an open door and fired one shot, killing Amirra. However, following further investigation, officers determined that Amirra had found the gun on a bed which went off while she was playing with it. Police say the teenage boy hid the weapon after the shooting and later helped officers find it, two blocks away from the house.
Nathaniel Lowe was arrested and charged with culpable negligence, tampering with evidence, possessing a firearm as a felon and grand theft of a firearm. Lowe is a six-time felon and was on probation, which was set to last until 2018. He was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail, where he was being held on a $150,000 bond.
The teenage boy also faces charges of culpable negligence, tampering with evidence, perjury and grand theft of a firearm and was booked into the Juvenile Assessment Center.
